Lauren Jacobson McConnell – Guest Services

If someone asked me two questions about myself—"What do you like to do?” and, “What are you good at?”, I wouldn’t answer either with “housecleaning”.    In fact, Karen and Igor brought me onto the “Bradford team” about 4 years ago with essentially no vetting as neither have ever been lucky enough to venture to the middle of nowhere, PA to see my house or assess my qualifications for successfully and effectively addressing “all things sullied”; if they had, they would realize that I clearly prioritize a variety of tasks—walking dogs, riding my bike, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, yard work, drinking beer—other than cleaning house.  So, you should probably conclude that my primary personal quality is “hutzpah” for having the audacity to ask to help at Bradford Camps as the Cabin Cleaner.  Alas, I think my housecleaning skills appear celebratory when you compare the inside of your cabin to its outdoor surroundings—the fact that Munsungan Lake and the Bradford Camps area is both beautiful as well as covered in more dirt, mud, pine needles, sap, rocks, insects, and rain than the space inside the cabins, tends to nudge our visitors to be generally satisfied with how their cabins appear…and the low lighting helps as well.  Alas, I’m a college professor in my other life and have spent years honing the art of listening to people’s needs as well as appearing to be concerned about them so if there’s a way I can be helpful to you, I will make every effort to be part of a positive experience for you at Bradford Camps!!
