DIRECTIONS FROM ASHLAND

(Approximately two hours)

  • 95 N to exit 264 (old exit 58), Sherman Station, go L at end of ramp.
  • 11 N, 50+- miles to Ashland. Gas up in Ashland at O'Clair's Station on the right.
  •  Go L at 4 corners (second blinking red light) still on 11 N.
  • Go 1 mile on 11 N, across Aroostook River, go L at 'T'.
  • Go .75 mile to Gateway Store on R (last minute supplies of groceries, film, etc. may be purchased here). Please call in from here so we know when to expect you.  207-746-7777  Your cell phone will NOT work beyond Ashland.
  • Immediately after Gateway Store fork R towards 'North Maine Woods'.
  • Road turns to dirt, go 5 miles to North Maine Woods gate. Pay fee. $25/person.
  • Fork L after gate. Go 10 miles, go over Machias River, fork L.
  • Go 15 miles, go across Mooseleuk stream, take R at Bradford Camps sign.
  • Go 14 miles, pass logging camp, go L at Bradford Camps sign.
  • You are four miles from camp, follow signs.
  • SEE YOU SOON!

All distances +- .5 mile.
Shown above is a driving map from Ashland.

To break up the drive during your trip, you might consider the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport.

Make sure you have a good spare tire before heading into the woods.  A can of Fix-a-Flat is a good idea also.  Your cell phone will not work on the logging roads.   IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US THAT YOU PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING AT CAMP BEFORE DARK, preferably by 5:00.  After dark it is very easy to miss turns, we won't know where to start looking for you, and we will probably be asleep!
