MAINE OUTPOST CAMPS and CABINSReed Pond and Bluffer Pond REED POND: The Bradford Camps has 2 remote Maine outpost camps available for guests on nearby Reed Pond where excellent trout fishing awaits the fly fishing angler. Reed Pond is reached only by Float Plane or long bushwhack and thus assures the angler of a truly remote day or overnight fishing experience. Our camp guests may stay at this cabin anytime during their stay. The 2 outpost cabins are equipped with bunks to sleep six people, gas lights, gas stove, dry sink, full kitchen, canoes and paddles, and gorgeous scenery. The cabin is also available for rent by the night or week. Reed Pond is a very special place to guests at Bradford Camps. It is in the center of the largest old growth forest in New England. This 5,000 acre wild forest is owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy of Maine and has virtually never seen an axe. The comfortable cabin, good trout fishing and spectacular beauty of Reed Pond make an overnight stay the highlight of your trip. Wild brook trout and the rare blueback trout, also known as Blueback char, are in Reed Pond. Recent fisheries restoration work is detailed here: Reed Pond Restoration BLUFFER POND: Another Maine remote outpost camp is located on Bluffer Pond. This too has fly in or hike-in access, but no drive-in access. The cabin sleeps three comfortably, has spring water, kitchen facilities, gas lights and stove, canoe and paddles. Both of these remote outpost camp ponds are fly fishing only to promote the preservation of these wild fish. RATES: No additional charge for our guests staying at Bradford Camps; just a fee for the floatplane trip at $80 per person round trip. The cabins are rented out for $60 per night per person, minimum $360 charge. State taxes apply.
