DIRECTIONS FROM ASHLAND, MAINE

(Approximately two hours in from Ashland)

bullet95 N to exit 264, Sherman Station, go L at end of ramp.
bullet11 N, 55+- miles to Ashland. Gas up in Ashland.
bulletGo L at 4 corners (second blinking red light) still on 11 N.
bulletGo 1 mile on 11 N, across Aroostook River Bridge, go L at 'T'.
bulletGo 3/4 mile to Gateway Store on R (last minute supplies of groceries, film, etc. may be purchased here). Please call in from here so we know when to expect you.  207-433-0660  Your cell phone will NOT work beyond Ashland.
bulletImmediately after Gateway Store fork R towards 'North Maine Woods'.
bulletRoad turns to dirt, go 5 miles to North Maine Woods gate. Pay fee. $25/person.
bulletFork L after gate. Go 10 miles, go over Machias River Bridge, fork L.
bulletGo 15 miles, go across Mooseleuk Stream Bridge, take R at Bradford Camps sign.
bulletGo 14 miles, pass logging camp, go L at Bradford Camps sign.
bulletYou are four miles from camp, follow signs.
bulletSEE YOU SOON!

Make sure you have a good spare tire before heading into the woods.  A can of Fix-a-Flat is a good idea also.  Your cell phone will not work on the logging roads.   Please try not to arrive at noon while lunch is being served.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US THAT YOU PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING AT CAMP BEFORE DARK, preferably by 5:00.  After dark it is very easy to miss turns, we won't know where to start looking for you, and we will probably be asleep!

DIRECTIONS FROM MILLINOCKET
(Approximately two and a half hours to camp)

bullet95 North to Medway, exit 244.
bulletGo L at end of ramp onto 157 West. Go 14 miles to Millinocket. Please call in from here so we know when to expect you.  207-433-0660  Your cell phone will NOT work beyond Millinocket.  Gas up in Millinocket.
bulletGo straight through town, through lights.  After town center you will come to a “T” intersection with an old high school on Right. Go R following signs to Baxter State Park.
bulletGo 200 yards and fork L still following signs for Baxter State Park.
bulletGo six miles to small store on Right (last gas and groceries), and Katahdin Air Service on Left.  You can fly in to camp with Katahdin Air.
bulletAt this point you must CROSS OVER to the parallel road on the Left, called the Golden Road.  Going straight will dead end you into Baxter Park so Do Not Miss This Turn.
bulletGo another 20+- miles to paved road coming in on right, Go R and immediately cross the single-lane Penobscot River Bridge, road turns to dirt.
bulletGo 13 miles to gate, pay North Maine Woods fee.  $25 per person.
bulletGo 8 miles to one lane Chamberlain Bridge, go over.
bulletGo 9.5 miles to major road on right, stay straight.
bulletGo 2 miles to fork, bear R onto smaller road.
bulletGo 2.5 miles to crossroads, "Pillsbury" sign, go straight (do not bear right).
bulletGo 9 miles to fork, bear R.
bullet5.25 miles to small sign, "Bradford Camps", go R.  (If you pass two small buildings on the left you went 1 mile too far)
bulletYou are four miles from camp, follow signs.

Driving from Millinocket, while shorter overall in terms of time is longer on dirt roads. A map for this route is not displayed here. We recommend that you purchase 'The Maine Atlas and Gazetteer', about $20, available at most convenience stores, and follow it closely with the above directions. All distances are +- .5 mile.

bulletGo 14 miles to 'Golden Road', bear right.  Road goes back to paved.
